SPOILER: I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here Australia 2017 Cast Leaked

The cast for the new season of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here Australia has been controversially leaked ahead of tonight’s 7pm premiere.

While two contestants had already been strategically named to generate publicity, the remaining identities were not meant to be revealed until tonight’s broadcast. It appears as though Fairfax is to blame, with their servers accidentally publishing the names ahead of schedule earlier today. This story has since been pulled down.

If you don’t want to know who the stars are before tonight’s broadcast, don’t read below. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!!

Joining Julia Morris and Dr Chris Brown will be an eclectic mix of ten celebrities from various aspects of public life.

From singers, to sports stars, to those you’ve never heard of – you can hardly argue that Ten and ITV haven’t aimed for a diverse (or is that obscure) mix of personalities for their 2017 season.

So without further ado, here are the five men and five women confirmed to be taking part:

  • Steve Price (Radio Shock Jock) – already confirmed
  • Tom Arnold (US Sitcom Star)
  • Jay Laga’aia (Famous Aussie Actor)JayLaga'aia
  • Dane Swan (AFL Legend)
  • Nazeem Hussain (Comedian)

  • Lisa Curry (Olympic Champion) – already confirmed
  • Natalie Bassingthwaighte (Pop Diva)Singer and actress Nat Bass is the standout among a pretty lacklustre female cast
  • Tegan Martin (Beauty Queen)
  • Ash Pollard (Reality Star)
  • Casey Donavan (Singing Sensation)

Given previous leaks from Fairfax – notably their constant obsession with publishing Logie winners hours before broadcast each and every year – I’d say this cast seems to be on the money. Hopefully Channel Ten has the last laugh however and none of these names prove to be correct.

It has been speculated that more stars will be joining the original ten “stars” during Monday’s second episode. Hopefully they improve the celebrity standard, because some of those names are absolutely appalling. Those interested in media will have definitely heard of all those names, but the general public will probably be less forgiving.

In any case I’ll be watching with interest as all the fireworks unfold live from South Africa. Anything to avoid the bloody tennis.
